From 13^th to 15^th November 2022, WorldSkills Belgium organised the Startech’s Days which are aimed at the young generation of under 25 years old. This national final of the technical and technological trades competitions represents the first step towards participating in EuroSkills 2023, to be held in Poland. During this high level contest, Maxime had to create a mechanical part within a given time. Following a problem with his tool, he received a penalty of 10 points at the outset. He was not discouraged by this, and went on to recommence his mechanical part, aiming for perfection. At the end of the trial, he received the maximum score of 100 points for the mechanical part he had made (minus the penalty), which brought him the Gold Medal in the CNC milling category.
