The 5-axis CNC milling machine HERMLE C52U precisely machines cylindrical parts up to a maximum value of 1000 mm x 810 mm with a weight of up to 2 tons. “This milling machine allows for the creation of complex shapes with high dimensional precision,“ explains Erich Krings - Production Manager. It is equipped with a rotating and tilting table. The cutting tool moves on the linear axes X, Y, and Z and rotates on axes A and B, enabling it to work on the piece in all directions.

With a table surface of 1150 x 900 mm, it travels on a longitudinal axis of 1000 mm. Its rotational speed is 9000 revolutions per minute. The vertical Y travel is 1100 mm, and the transverse Z travel is 750 mm. The 5-axis CNC milling machine HERMLE C52U can machine parts in various materials such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, cast iron, and even titanium.

It features a 42-tool changer and a HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 numerical control. The milling head is equipped with central cooling which not only extends tool life but also enhances cooling performance. “Additionally, the BLUM laser measuring system it is equipped with facilitates custom tool adjustment and wear monitoring through focused laser beams,“ adds the Production Manager.

The 5-axis CNC milling machine HERMLE C52U meets the latest safety, environmental, and energy criteria. It is equipped with an oil mist filtration system and water reconditioning capabilities.
